HEC-RAS

Structures with HEC-RAS (LC-26-3-161)

Description
This course provides hands-on training in modelling hydraulic structures using HEC-RAS, with a focus on culverts, bridges, levees, and related components. Participants will explore key hydraulic principles including open channel flow, pressure flow, and weir flow, supported by practical examples and guided workshops.

In this 3-part course, participants will apply 1D, 2D, and coupled 1D/2D modelling approaches to simulate complex systems. The course covers rating curves, hydraulic tables, flow separation zones, and structural customisation for elements such as piers, abutments, headwalls, and wingwalls.

Ideal for professionals working in flood modelling, infrastructure planning, or waterway design, this course supports the application of best-practice workflows and troubleshooting techniques to real-world scenarios.
