HEC-RAS

On-demand: HEC-RAS Masterclass (OD-26-3-164)

Description
Take sessions at any time with unlimited access for 90 days on registration.

Whether you're an experienced modeller looking to refresh your skills or a beginner seeking structured, practical guidance, this course offers a step-by-step approach to setting up, running, and mastering HEC‑RAS models. This 8-part comprehensive course supports participants in building both 1D and 2D flood models using HEC-RAS Version 6.7 and the 2025 release.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in geometry setup, flow inputs, simulation configuration, and results interpretation. The course covers best practices in file management, logging, and project organisation, alongside advanced techniques such as terrain modification, cross section interpolation, spatially varying parameters, and hydraulic structures. Calibration, sensitivity analysis, and export options including 3D visualisation and GIS/CAD integration are explored to support real-world applications in floodplain mapping and hydraulic modelling.

With instructor support and access to curated resources, participants will build confidence in troubleshooting, validating results, and communicating outputs. This course is ideal for engineers, hydrologists and technical practitioners seeking a practical, end-to-end understanding of HEC RAS modelling.
